Justyna Dabrowski is a painter and printmaker working out of Connecticut. She works predominantly in traditional painting styles while incorporating mixed media elements. Justyna’s work is characterized by recurring themes of identity, time, and memory. She starts with her own family photo albums. Working from these source images is a way of celebrating and understanding who she is as a first generation Polish-American. She recreates and reinterprets scenes and narratives of her Polish-American family within a new context.
